Right now may seem like an odd time to be thinking about camping. However, there are many reasons to consider an RV right now. We know many people are struggling just to make ends meet, but there are many of you out there looking for ways to continue your favorite summer travels with your family.  We think RVing is a great way to do that.

First, and for more on this see this blog post, camping in an RV provides a great way for you to practice social distancing, even in a filled campground. Often in campgrounds you might use the public restrooms and showers.  But you don’t have to. If you have a wet bath, full bath, or even porta-potty you can avoid public restrooms for much of your trip! Of course, with a porta-potty you’ll have to empty it at some point, but that still means only ONE person is headed to the public restroom instead of the whole family.  Sure, you may have to be more careful when visiting your favorite restaurants (take out may be all that’s available, in fact). However, our hiking and biking still remain the same. You come back to camp, shower or take a washcloth bath, and enjoy your campsite, free of other folks.

Buying RVs and Social Distancing

But what if you don’t HAVE an RV yet? How do you shop for an RV when you are supposed to social distance? We have photos and Matterport 360 virtual tours of almost all of our new RVs online. These virtual tours are a great way to see the inside features of many campers.  Please note that the color schemes in campers on the lot may be different from that in the manufacturer video. Still, for seeing the inside of the camper? These are a great option.  While we don’t produce a ton of video tours ourselves, there are plenty out there on YouTube! Check out this one of the 2020 Rockwood GeoPro 19FD (available on our lot).

Once you’ve narrowed down your search to a few campers, come visit our lot. It’s open and all our trailers are open during our normal business hours. You can tour any camper you want. If you have questions, call us. We’re right inside the office ready to answer any question you have about the campers you’re looking at.

If you need to apply for credit you can do that right here.

RVs for Quarantine

We hear there are people out there buying RVs to quarantine sick family members. This is a great option! We certainly hope no one in your family gets sick, but if they do, consider using your existing RV or purchasing a used one or clearance-priced one for them to stay in. This can help protect your family member and keep the rest of the family safe too. It’s also the easiest way to keep your pets away from sick family members. Closing that door doesn’t work and we all know it!

Whatever your reasons for considering an RV purchase right now, we’re here to help. We know buying and RV and social distancing don’t seem like they mix, but it IS possible! In fact, it might even be easier for you. Once you’ve made your purchase, our parts and service location is open to help you with any service needs or RV accessories.
